In Haihe Town, Kaiji Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd.—which began operations last year—has accelerated its growth through intelligent production. From signing to full-scale operation, the company leverages technology to enhance production and quality to capture market share. It has quickly established a strong foothold and emerged as a key player in overseas orders, becoming a prime example of rapid project implementation at the local level. Recently, reporters visited Kaiji Heavy Industry's smart manufacturing base, where multi-axis collaborative robots precisely performed welding tasks with errors strictly controlled within millimeter-level tolerances. The company has invested 3000 million yuan to introduce 3 automated production lines, successfully establishing a new digital management model that covers raw material inbound, cutting, forming, assembly, welding, coating, and shipping. "The deployment of laser cutters, automatic H-beam cutting and forming equipment, and welding robots has not only improved production efficiency and reduced costs but also reliably ensured product quality," said An Yusong, the company's deputy general manager, when discussing the benefits of intelligent transformation. Since commencing operations in month 7 last year, Kaiji Heavy Industry has rapidly expanded its market reach with advanced processes and superior quality. To date, it has produced over 8000 tons of steel structures, generating an annual output value of 1.5 billion yuan. An Yusong revealed that the company currently holds orders for 2 tons of steel, with first-quarter capacity fully secured. A batch of export orders is being expedited, with overseas customers as the primary source, while domestic supporting facility orders are progressing in parallel.
